The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Congress passed and the President has signed into law an economic stimulus initiative designed to jump start the U.S. economy by investing in projects and programs. The goal is to put Americans to work improving research and infrastructure that makes lives and the economy better.

The WVU Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development will coordinate the University’s responses to the opportunities presented under the Recovery Act. This page was created to provide WVU faculty and researchers with information about opportunities becoming available.

Access to information about available funding and how to apply for funding is becoming available in steps. Most participating federal agencies are developing their own web sites to address Recovery Act issues. A link to those sites is in the margin to the right.

Another excellent access point is operated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Grants.gov – which is serving as the managing partner for Grants.gov. The site offers information on Recovery Act grants and opportunities and other valuable information.

The federal government has created an ARRA frequently asked questions site.

Check back often for updates as they become available. Below are available agency summations for quick reference. Click on the agency headings below for information about current areas of ARRA focus.
