The National Science Foundation awarded a grant to WVEPSCoR.
Higher education officials announced Monday that the university system will receive a $20 million federal grant to hire new faculty, purchase new equipment and make other improvements needed to build out research infrastructure. The National Science Foundation grant was awarded to the West Virginia Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (WVEPSCoR), which is partnered with West Virginia University, Marshall University and West Virginia State University. The $20 million is being matched with $4 million from the state and its research universities for a total of $24 million.
