Although biometric technology is being consistently adopted for security measures, especially with regards to government mandates, there remains a question as to whether or not the technology will ever reach the tipping point where it’s consistently used by the mass market. Researchers at the Center for Identification Technology Research at West Virginia University believe that having true interoperability between biometric sensors and systems, as well as access to the Internet may encourage wider adoption as well.
