Dr. Stores is responsible for the continuous improvement of West Virginia University’s research administration infrastructure and reports directly to Fred King, Vice President for Research.
The research administration infrastructure serves to facilitate the success of the University’s research enterprise. Dr. Stores' portfolio consists of the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Program Management, and the Research IT systems related to these departments.
Dr. Stores champions planning and decision-making workflows and documentation related to business operations, contractual relationships, and technology support to advance organizational goals and assist the research community. Further, Dr. Stores collaborates with the other Associate Vice Presidents in the Research Office to bridge university-wide research development and research administration endeavors.
Dr. Stores has expertise in continuous process improvement and enjoys developing both people and organizations with acute attention to culture building and the professional development of team members. Before joining the West Virginia University, Research Office in November 2018, Dr. Stores served the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences for 12 years, most recently as the Associate Dean for External Research Development, prior to her employment with WVU, she was employed with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland where she was a United States Department of Health and Human Services Emerging Leader. She has also served as a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Fellow.
