- Proposers will be notified of their status on January 22, 2025
Synopsis
WVU is limited to one submission per academic year and the applications are accepted to the agency on a rolling basis and funded until funds run out––as such, there is a very quick turn-around time on this call so that we can get our selected application in.
Pre-proposal
Please submit a one page proposal (same requirement as the RFP) about your project with an additional page for the proposed budget to Deanna Messenger at deanna.messenger@mail.wvu.edu with the subject line HEPC OPP GRANT. Questions can be addressed to Melanie Page at mcpage@mail.wvu.edu
The purpose of the West Virginia Science, Technology and Research (STaR) Opportunity Grants & Sponsorships Program is to support STEM education, demonstrate the value of STEM in West Virginia, and/or support those in STEM careers.
Projects we typically fund include, but are not limited to:
- Camps or workshops for West Virginia residents
- STEM diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Out-of-state travel to scientific conferences or for research purposes
- Sponsorships of state-wide scientific or technical events
Applicants are strongly encouraged to utilize STaR support as a supplement to other sources of funding.
Each proposal should be for a single purpose.
